Terzaghi’s method is the earliest and simplest, providing a basic formula for bearing capacity using three key factors. Hansen expanded on Terzaghi’s work by introducing additional correction factors to account for shape, depth, and load inclination. Vesic’s method further refined these calculations by incorporating plasticity theory and offering more accurate predictions for complex conditions. Meyerhof introduced a generalized bearing capacity formula that considered the influence of the shape of the foundation, the depth of the foundation, the inclination of the load.
